Beautiful Hotel in gorgeous lakeside position, where Charles Darwin enjoyed a 5 week holiday with his wife. We were very well looked after with an excellent breakfast and option of having dinner on some nights. A lovely location for a relaxing stay with good access to scenic lakeside walks, the steamer pier for trips up the lake, and shops etc at Glenridding. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
My sister and I have just returned from a lovely relaxing stay. We were made to feel so very welcome by Lynne. The house has an amazing homely ambience and is clean, tidy and immaculately maintained. Our room was comfortable and the views over the lake from the room and balcony were breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was luxurious Egyptian cotton. Breakfast was cooked to a very high standard and was delicious. Look forward to returning sometime soon. Thank you .
The most perfect location - right on the lake, incredible walks from the door, in a lovely village, and a direct bus from Penrith so very easy for those without a car. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable, there is a lovely sitting room to relax in and look out over the lake. Great breakfast, and wonderfully friendly host. Would definitely recommend it!
The views from the rooms are spectacular down the the lake. The rooms have been decorated to a very high standard with many original features from the old Manor house. Staff were very friendly and helpful, food and service was perfect with a family atmosphere.

Lovely 18C house located on the waterfront of Ullswater. The bedrooms are reasonably sized and decorated to a high standard. The lawns outside are perfect for watching sailing dinghies or the hills and water as the evening light starts to fade. 2 minutes walk from the village centre.
We were very fortunate to come across Glenridding Manor House, when looking for a place to stay in the Lake District. We will make sure to plan for it on future outings. The house itself is very well maintained and the rooms are wonderful. We were fortunate to book the Place Fell Suite that faces the lake and mountains to the south. The hosts were terrific and the breakfast was really quite good. We always had some porridge and a hefty breakfast before a day of trekking. Aira Force is only two miles up the lake and was a great first hike. We took this all the way to Gowbarrow Fell and back. This is a special place with a lot of history and a great place to make base camp while visiting the Lake District!
Fantastic stay from start to finish. The hotel is in an amazing setting right on ullwaters. The room was super clean and very spacious. Stephen and Lynne where very friendly and made our stay extra special, the breakfast was lovely to. Highly recommend.
